The group that was studied was this school districts administrative team which consisted of principals, assistant principals, central office administrators and supervisors of classified employees. The study followed their work together over a three year period and examines the comments of interviewees and those of group members which were contributed anonymously after monthly leadership seminars. The results indicate that the group believed the time spent in the leadership seminars combined with the reflective practices in which they engaged to be highly influential in developing their capacity as leaders, increasing communication skills, developing relationships, affirming their values systems, and increasing their personal self knowledge.

This study also examined the literature on systems thinking, professional learning communities, self renewal, and reflection.
